Bacardi 'mixology tour'

Hi my name is Natalie D Murdoch and I am the winner of the Bacardi ‘mixology tour’ competition!
As the winner of this challenge I was given the opportunity to blog about all 3 of the events I attended. Let me give you the low down on how I landed this amazing gig...
News Digital Media (best news site ever) and Bacardi Lion joined forces to bring us this year's Bacardi ‘mixology tour’! With the Bacardi train being so last season the Bacardi ‘mixology tour’ was the coolest comp to win for 2011. Browsing on moshtix as I do most arvos I noticed an ad for the Bacardi ‘mixology tour’, I was obviously curious and clicked through to read more. The comp seemed pretty simple to enter as all I had to do was write in 25 words or less what I thought would make the best 3 mixers for my Bacardi. The greatest thing about this was that the homepage of moshtix had this cool ad unit which pushed down to reveal an ‘open bar’. It let me pour a different mixer into all of my Bacardi drinks and recommend my favourite one to all my friends to try and better. As much fun as this all was I then realised how awesome the prize was! Get this....
I got to be the VIP guest at all 3 Bacardi mixology gig’s, where 3 of the coolest acts of 3 different genres rocked 3 of the coolest venues on the east coast! Oh and I got to invite my 3 best mates..
On each of the nights my 3 best mixers were announced to the crowd and served all night long.
The event was streamed live on nova (who the awesome guys from moshtix and news told me they were in partnership with) and the crowd was made up of other Bacardi ‘mixology tour’ lovers who had entered the comp and recommended this via facebook to all of their friends.
After I entered the comp I realised I had another few weeks to wait until the winner was announced. This didn’t stop my excitement growing as I was constantly teased with reminders while checking out my favourite designers on vogue, searching the best entertainment news online within news.com.au, receiving my weekly moshguide and finding out more about the comp within the hifi site. Oh there were also those open bar ad units I was talking about before across the moshtix site for the whole month of the comp.
The last part of my prize was the chance to interview the marketing manager from Bacardi Lion at the last gig. I asked him ‘what was the Bacardi ‘mixology tour’ to him?’ His answer:
‘We set out months ago to bring the Bacardi brand to life and educate people on the best way to enjoy Bacardi , through mixers, music and mingling. My expectations were exceeded through our partnership with moshtix and news whose integrated creative idea using online, radio, social media and events has brought Bacardi to life.
